It is official – DJ Avicii finished career at the age of 26. Worked with Madonna, Coldplay and David Guetta, Avicii is the star of a new, globally successful DJ generation. Surprisingly, Tim Bergling has announced his retirement from the stage.
The Swedish DJ and producer Avicii withdraws from the public. In 2016 he will complete his last tour and perform also for the last time on the stage, announced on Tuesday on his Facebook page. As the reason, he stated that he have desire on “Other things” in his life.
In the announcement published on his Facebook page, he wrote a very detailed letter to his at least 19 million followers and fans.
Avicii is one of the most successful DJs of the world. In 2012 and 2013 he was in the ranking of the “DJ magazine” respectively on the third place of the best DJs. Among others, he worked with Madonna, Coldplay and David Guetta.
Lastly, the musician showed signs of fatigue which caused some health problems. Two years ago, he canceled several concerts after an appendix and gall bladder surgery. Last year then, Bergling cancelled several appearances with the argument he needs a “well-earned break”.
In his letter, Avicii thanked (the name is a variation of the Buddhist term for hell, Avici) his followers for their support. At the same time, he promised that he “never leave the music”.
